The end of 2024 is FAST approaching. For many of us, this is the time to plan holiday visits with kids, in-laws, or perhaps even an adventure. While we're all busy making plans to wrap up the year, some incredible happenings have unfolded at LCS.

New Programs:  This year, we expanded the Delaware Food Farmacy to include providing medically tailored groceries to women with high-risk pregnancies. LCS is now supporting healthy food distributions at three public schools in Wilmington and has completed comprehensive physical pantry makeovers at two of them.

The most exciting development? The groundbreaking of the LCS Food Hub! This facility allows us to expand our capacity and better meet the growing needs of our community.

Thanks to the generous contributions from the State of Delaware, ChristianaCare, Christ Church, several foundations (including Phillies Charities—yes, those Phillies!), and supporters like you, we raised over $900,000 to build and equip the new facility. Contributions from individuals alone surpassed $200,000, a remarkable show of support that goes above and beyond what you already provide.

As always, we couldn’t have done it without your support.

We’re aiming to open the doors by early 2025, and we are better positioned than ever to meet the increasing needs of those we serve.

Keep the Momentum Going

As we celebrate these milestones, we also recognize the challenges ahead. Our operating costs are increasing, and changes to SNAP benefits and other safety-net programs may be forthcoming in the new year. These changes will likely create even greater demand for our services.

Your support has been crucial to our success, and we are deeply grateful for your commitment to our ministry and mission.

Consider making a year-end gift to keep the momentum going and ensure that 2025 starts off strong. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
