About our Services

Connecting Communities with the Tools to Quit Tobacco & Nicotine

As part of our commitment to the health and well being of our clients, LCS is partnered with the Delaware Quitline. We connect communities and healthcare professionals with the resources and information to help quit smoking, vaping, and other forms of nicotine.

If you need help with your event, need an educational speaker, or just want to be able to talk more effectively with your patients about quitting, we're here to help!

Events, Education, & Outreach

The Delaware Quitline Outreach Team focuses on educating Delaware community members, organizations, corporations, schools, and community leaders of all ages about the dangers of tobacco and nicotine use and the FREE Delaware Quitline Resources.

Outreach services are free, available in all 3 Delaware Counties, and include the provision of free educational materials for you to display and share at your discretion.

Our Outreach Team Free Services

  • Workshops & Presentations: Interactive and educational workshops and activities designed to promote awareness, prevention, and quit support. This is often utilized by schools, community service establishments, non-profit organizations, worksites, and state & federal government agencies.

  • Exhibiting & Vending: We love to table at conferences, local health and resource fairs, food pantries, and any other locations. We also arrange for this service at establishments on scheduled dates (that may not involve an event or other vendors) to increase awareness of and access to the Delaware Quitline’s services.

  • Delaware Quitline Community Training: We facilitate training for community leaders & professionals, educators, managers, employees, and more. Our educational trainings are designed to equip trainees with the knowledge and tools to confidently and compassionately speak with those seeking to quit tobacco and nicotine.

By signing your organization up for our free Delaware Quitline Training, you are investing in your organization, your service providers, your employees, and the health and well-being of your community members. Trainings are delivered in both virtual and in-person formats and can be tailored to the population you serve and/or the mission you support.

Healthcare Provider Consultations

The Delaware Quitline is dedicated to helping healthcare providers reduce tobacco and nicotine use amongst patients. Through provider-based training, educational resources and materials, and connecting patients to free nicotine and tobacco treatment coaches and quit-assist products, we are there to help you get started. Healthcare Providers play an integral role in reducing the harms that nicotine and tobacco products cause in our communities. Research shows that healthcare providers can have a significant influence on their patients’ decision to quit by asking about their use, advising them to quit, and referring them to their local Quitline.

Free Provider Resources

  • Provider-based Training: We facilitate trainings for healthcare providers, professionals and staff on latest trends in tobacco and nicotine use, the DE Quitline program, and how to best utilize the free resources available
  • Educational Resources: We provide no-cost educational materials for you to display and share with your patients. These include posters, brochures, and branded merchandise.
  • Patient Referral for Coaching**: Patients are provided with a one-on-one coach to help them with their quitting journey. Coaches are personalized and available via phone, text, or chat. Click the link below to refer a patient.
  • Patient Referral for Free Quit-assist products**: Patients that take part in one-on-one coaching are eligible for free quit-assist products, including nicotine gum, lozenges, and other products. Click the link below to refer a patient.

**Specialized programing is offered to individuals identifying as having behavioral health needs, using menthol products, and for women who are pregnant.

  • I am trying to quit smoking, how can I get assistance quitting?

LCS provides outreach and education services to Delaware communities. Contact the Delaware Quitline for information how to quit!

  • What does it cost to have LCS speak at my event or request training?

LCS offers outreach services and trainings completely free of charge. Printed materials, memorabilia, and resources that can be provided to patients are also free to those we partner with.

  • Is this program successful?

Yes. The Delaware Quitline is an evidence-based program. Follow-up telephone surveys show that 34.4% of adults who have used the Delaware Quitline remain smoke-free after seven months. 

  • Who is eligible to access the Delaware Quitline?

Delawareans age 13 or older are eligible to utilize the Delaware Quitline. However, individuals who are younger than 18, pregnant, or incarcerated are not eligible to receive free Nicotine Replacement Therapy products (such as patches, gum or lozenges) or prescription quit medications through the program.

  • What happens when patients call the Quitline?

At 1-866-409-1858, patients can speak with a tobacco and nicotine treatment specialist who will help them explore the best quit methods with them and provide non-judgmental support and evidence-based counseling strategies for overcoming cravings and quitting for good.
