We did it!!
For the second year in a row, we broke our fundraising goal and hit a new record. To say we’re grateful is an understatement.
Your generosity has provided over $72,000 to help Delaware families facing food insecurity. Thank you for being there to help so many people in need.
If you couldn't make the Walk this year, don't worry! We received a huge amount of photos from attendees, as well as photos from LCS staff, and volunteers, so take a look at some of the pictures below to see all that happened in our 2022 Hunger Walk/Run Gallery.
We are grateful to Concordia Lutheran Church for hosting the event his year! We had so many dedicated volunteers come out to help set up, manage the event, then help clean up.
A special thanks to our event planning committee who helped to organize the event! We couldn't have done this without you!

The weather was perfect for our Walk/ Runners on Saturday. The gorgeous treescape at Concordia added the right ambiance and shade for vendor's volunteers and participants to cool off and enjoy refreshments and fellowship.
Top runners include Melvin Gray (top male, Rachel Pinder (top female), Dom Verdi (top youth male), and Lucy White (top youth female).
The signs along the route were set up by Bill Brizendine and his team of volunteers. Lilly Derrickson, who has been a huge asset on the planning committee, was our honorary starter. And we'd also like to thank Leanne Bier, Amira Kummer, Kathy Kurtis, and Dale Nebe for manning our first aid stations.
The grounds of the Walk/Run were set up to be a day of fun and fellowship! We had tattoos, free merch from our community partners, games, opportunities to learn more about LCS, and most importantly puppies.
We had musical performances from Richard Porto (Unity Food Pantry) and Ryan Bacher.
We also enjoyed food trucks from Wilmington Brew Works, Woodside Creamery, and Yummy Tummy Hoagies.
An extra thank you to Talleyville Fire Company, who came out to support the walk by bringing their truck along with food and financial support!
The event concluded with a thank you to all those who came out and all those who couldn't make it, but still supported the Walk.
Of particular note, our top 2 adult fundraisers, Fred Melton and Jan Hufnal raised an impressive $30,082 between them.
Our top dog (canine!) fundraiser was Noel, courtesy of humans Deb and John.
A special Thank You to the LCS staff volunteers and interns. All of you make a difference with the work you do every day. We wouldn’t be able to execute this mission effectively without you.
Thank You to All of our Sponsors for your Support!
